2025: Week 44
how is it November already?
Notes from the day
Mon, Oct 27
Got drenched in the rain going home. Brought my handy poncho but it wasn’t enough to keep my legs from getting wet from all the rain splashing against the bike frame.
Tue, Oct 28
Got a chatty Grab driver on my way to work. I was about to put my AirPods on when he started talking. Ten years as a lineman in Afghanistan, then Clark, with stories of stolen equipment and under-the-table dealings. His stories were so vivid I felt like I was right there with him. I should try and give people more opportunities to share their stories.
Wed, Oct 29
This morning’s devotional spoke to me. It had a couple of verses from Psalm 38 but focused on verse 5:
Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
Lately, I’ve been anxious of things. The need to hold a job but at the same time looking for something else to do—something better, actually. The verse reminded me to keep trusting in Him in the same way I did when I was desperately looking for a job, anxious if we were to make next month’s rent.
Thu, Oct 30
Nothing implodes faster than an enterprise who still thinks it’s a startup.
Fri, Oct 31
Today is a holiday and I spent intentional time with each and every member of our small family today—yes, including our dog Charlie.
Sat, Nov 1
My wife and I finally sat down to process the things we’ve learned during our marriage counselling session. It seems I could do a whole lot better if I can just be still and not rush to solve every single problem. Realized how that approach only benefits myself and not the other person. Rethinking this approach and how I can improve.
Ever since we decided to skip Nov 1 activities, the day usually just passes like any other holiday—no work, no fuss. But tonight, out of nowhere, I was reminded of my uncle’s sudden passing last year. It hit me like a bus at 11pm.
Sun, Nov 2
Rode my bike in the morning and took some nice photos. Loved the new setup of my neck strap which makes it easier for me to grab the camera from my jersey pocket.
